Akhil Sharma is a novelist and short story writer. He has won numerous international prizes, including the International Dublin Literary Award and the Folio Prize. Among his novels are An Obedient Father and Family Life. He writes primarily about the Indian American community and lives in the US with his wife and daughter. He is also a professor at Duke University.
