We have a Festival Pass that allows you access to all SWF programmes excluding individually ticketed programmes. If you have a valid student pass, you qualify for a Youth Pass* with the same benefits as the Festival Pass.

*The SWF Youth Pass allows access to all Festival Pass events with the exception of programmes with content advisories. A valid student card must be presented upon collection of Youth Pass.

Kindly note that registration will be conducted on a first-come-first-served basis, so it’s prudent to get your Festival Pass early!

Festival Passes are tied to your unique BookMyShow log-in details and cannot be shared. You can always encourage a friend to buy a pass instead – we promise it’ll be worth it! ;)

1. Please refer to the individual programme listing to register.
2. Click on the preferred event and select your desired quantity.
3. Enter the Pass ID under "Redeem Passes". Pass ID can be found on your Festival E-Pass.
4. E-Tickets will be sent to your email address.

Please note that registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. Do remember to bring along your Festival Pass for validation at the event’s venue for entry.

Kindly note that registered seats will be reserved for up to 10 minutes after the start of the performance before they are released to the public.

In order to receive your refundable deposit, E-tickets must be scanned to verify your attendance.

The deposit will be refunded to your original payment method.

Please note that the refund process will take 7 - 14 working days, starting from the day after your ticket has been scanned.

In the event of no-show, the deposit will be forfeited.

While we cannot guarantee that there will be seats, walk-ins will be accepted if there are available slots from no-shows.

Most SWF programmes will be accessible only to Festival Pass holders. However, there are a number of individually ticketed programmes that can be purchased separately. These programmes will be announced at a later date.

Some programmes will feature a Q&A segment. Please check the individual programme descriptions here to find out if a Q&A is scheduled for that session. More information will be announced at a later date.

Began as a biennial festival back in 1986, the now yearly festival was rumoured to have its origins in a dark boardroom filled with avid readers. It now continues to be fuelled by hundreds of mugs of coffee and a love of the literary arts.

Other than yourself? We get all sorts at SWF, but one thing every festival-goer must share for sure is a love of reading! It goes without saying you’ll also meet writers of all kinds at SWF.

Yes! SWF Playground is a programme dedicated solely to catering events for the little ones and their parents. We have workshops, storytelling, and other events that can help introduce the kids (and maybe even their parents) to the world of literature.

SWF isn’t a biennial event anymore so there’ll always be next year! We also have some digital programmes in store, so you can still attend the festival from (almost!) anywhere in the world.

We first take a look at our theme of the year, then look up people who have produced works that ties in with the theme before inviting them to join us (it can be anyone from filmmakers to journalists; it doesn’t have to be just writers).
