Develop your child’s narrative writing skills with practical tips and hands-on exercises in this series of programmes by authors Maureen Yeo, Colin Goh and Chris Riddell.
Each child will attend one workshop and a talk.

Book sales and signing
Parents should return to pick their children at 12.45pm.
Participants are advised to bring writing materials, a sweater, a water bottle and a light snack for the break.

Learn all about Singapore’s native wild animals with children's author and educator Maureen Yeo. Then, create your own stories with creatures such as otters and pink dolphins as key characters.
This session is recommended for ages 7 to 9.

Featuring Colin Goh
Venue: Gallery II
What if your favourite food could go on quests? Create food-inspired characters and develop a short comic strip of your own with Colin Goh, who co-created Dim Sum Warriors, a graphic novel series about kung fu-fighting dumplings.
This session is recommended for ages 10 to 12.
[Talk] Stories from Daily Doodles
Featuring Chris Riddell

How can one develop narratives from their daily doodles? Award-winning illustrator and author Chris Riddell will show how participants can build stories from sketchy ideas through live drawings in this interactive session.
This session is recommended for ages 7 to 12.
After media-related stints in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, London, and Singapore, Maureen became a teacher of English, literature, and other useful nonsense. She is now a full-time mum to a small child and a big dog.She is the author of The Great Singapore Poo Sale and Other Beastly Business, and its sequel Make Animals Great Again and Other Creature Campaigns. Her travel articles, short stories and poems have been published in various periodicals. Follow her on Instagram @maureenyeosuiyin.
Chris Riddell is an accomplished artist and the political cartoonist for The Observer. His books have won a number of major prizes, including an unprecedented three CILIP Kate Greenaway Medals in 2001, 2004, and 2016. Colin Goh is an award-winning film-maker, humourist, and the artist/co-writer of Dim Sum Warriors, the graphic novel series about kungfu-fighting dumplings, which was praised by Time, Fast Company, and many others. It was recently adapted into a major musical in China. He also compiled the bestselling Coxford Singlish Dictionary.
