Acclaimed travel writer Pico Iyer meditates on the spaces between the spoken and the unspoken while living in Japan, where he has made his home for the past three decades. Reflecting on the concepts of nuance and silence, he will speak on human connection and belonging. Following the lecture, Pico Iyer will engage in a dialogue with fiction author Meira Chand on the confluence of different cultures reflected in their works.

Pico Iyer is the author of 15 books, and has for more than a quarter-century been writing constantly for Time, The New York Times, The New York Review of Books and more than 250 other periodicals worldwide. His four recent TED Talks have received more than eight million views.
