DESCRIPTION

We ask some of our festival writers to talk about the books that changed the way they thought about language. In this session Pico Iyer speaks on Zadie Smith's Changing My Mind, Salman Rushdie's Midnight Children, Don De Lillo's The Names and D.H. Lawrence's Women in Love.

Pico Iyer is the author of 15 books, and has for more than a quarter-century been writing constantly for Time, The New York Times, The New York Review of Books and more than 250 other periodicals worldwide. His four recent TED Talks have received more than eight million views. In 2019 he has published three new books, Autumn Light, A Beginner’s Guide to Japan, and (about Singapore) This Could be Home.
