DESCRIPTION

British author Philip Ardagh’s children’s books feature a host of fascinatingly weird characters, ranging from unusual families who find themselves on very funny adventures to mysterious stowaways and knights-in-training. Find out where he gets the inspiration for his bestselling series The Grunts, the Eddie Dickens trilogy and, most recently, The Secret Diary of John Drawbridge.


This session is suitable for ages 7 and up.

FEATURING

Philip Ardagh is the author of series such as The Grunts, Grubtown Tales, and National Trust: The Secret Diary of... The author of over 100 books, he won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize in 2009. He is a ‘regular irregular’ reviewer of children’s books for The Guardian, and is currently developing a series for television. Two metres tall with a ridiculously big, bushy beard and size 16 feet, Philip is an instantly recognisable figure at literary festivals around the world.
