A poetry of seasons plus a dash of poetic power and you get the humble haiku. Come and be captivated by the haikus from the likes of practitioners, Marc Nair, Shelly Bryant and Koh Buck Song – and you’re welcome to share your own too.
If you would like to read your own work, sign up at the door on a first-come-first-served basis. Registration closes 15 minutes after the session begins.
US - Singapore
Shelly Bryant divides her year between Shanghai and Singapore, working as a poet, writer and translator. She is the author of nine volumes of poetry, two travel guides and a short-story collection. She has translated nearly 20 books from the Chinese language and edited two poetry anthologies. Her translations have been long-listed for the Man Asian Literary Prize and shortlisted for the Singapore Literature Prize.Shelly Bryant is featured in the following SWF event(s):
A recipient of the 2016 Young Artist Award, Marc Nair is a poet and photographer. He has performed spoken word in solo and group performances for 15 years in more than 10 countries. Marc has published six solo volumes of poetry, and has released another three collections in collaboration with visual artists, photographers and graphic artists. His latest collection of poetry is Vital Possessions (2018).

Koh Buck Song
Koh Buck Song is author and editor of over 30 books, including three poetry collections, several anthologies, and books on Singapore such as Brand Singapore. He was the Singa journal’s general editor and The Straits Times’ literary editor and columnist.
