在追求共同语言的框架下,是否必然会导致方言逐渐流失?三位写作人分享各自作品中的方言元素,谈论为何以及如何融入方言,并探讨文学对保留语言和方言能起着什么样的作用。

In the pursuit of a common language, is the gradual loss of dialects just something that is inevitable? Three writers who have incorporated the use of dialects in their works discuss the hows and whys, as well as the role that literature can play in preserving languages and dialects.

陈楸帆,科幻作家,编剧,翻译、深港城市双年展策展人。世界科幻作家协会(SFWA)成员,世界华人科幻作家协会(CSFA)会长,Xprize基金会科幻顾问委员会(SFAC)成员。多次获得全球华语科幻星云奖、银河奖、世界奇幻科幻翻译奖等,作品被广泛翻译为多国语言,代表作有《荒潮》、《人生算法》、《未来病史》等。

Chen Qiufan (Stanley Chan), author of Waste Tide, is a Chinese speculative fiction writer and translator. He is known for his stylistic combination of science fiction realism and the new wave. His works have been translated into many languages and received multiple domestic and international awards.

以潮州话、英语和华语同步演出的舞台剧 “Grandmother Tongue” (《祖母语》),让编剧兼导演 Thomas Lim 在剧坛初露锋芒。他的第二部作品 “Supervision” (《看护》)获颁2019年底《海峡时报》生活戏剧奖 (Life Theatre Awards) 最佳原著剧本奖。Thomas Lim 主修应用戏剧和心理学,曾在新加坡多所中学和初级学院担任戏剧导师,现任剧团 Wild Rice 青年与教育助理艺术总监。

Thomas Lim made his professional debut as playwright and director in Grandmother Tongue, which was performed in Teochew, English and Mandarin. His sophomore work, Supervision, won Best Original Script at the Straits Times Life Theatre Awards 2019. He received his training in applied drama and psychology and has worked as a drama educator in secondary schools and junior colleges across Singapore. He is currently the Associate Artistic Director of Youth & Education at Wild Rice.

英培安,1947年生于新加坡,是新加坡著名的华文作家之一。英先生是2003年新加坡文华奖和2013年东南亚作家奖得主。已出版著作有二十五种,创作体裁包括诗歌,散文,小说,戏剧政治短论,文学评论等等。他的著作着重于探索不同层面的人性,从二元分界中推广出无限的文学想象。他的作品也有经过英语,马来语和荷兰语的翻译。小说《一个像我这样的男人》1988年获得新加坡国家书籍奖,小说《骚动》、《我与我自己的二三事》和《画室》获得2004、2008和2012年的新加坡文学奖。

Born in 1947, Yeng Pway Ngon — Chinese language poet, novelist, playwright and critic —is one of Singapore's most prolific authors, and recipient of the Cultural Medallion for Literature in 2003 and the SEA Write Award in 2013. He has published published over 25 volumes of poetry, essays, fiction, plays and literary criticism. His work is noted for its examination of the modern human condition, and has been translated into English, Malay and Dutch. Yeng has also received the National Book Development Council of Singapore's Book Award in 1988 for A Man Like Me, and the Singapore Literature Prize in 2004, 2008 and 2012 for UnrestTrivialities About Me and Myself, and Art Studio.
