DESCRIPTION

Why is crime such a popular genre, and what are the strategies for creating a riveting crime narrative? In this international panel, authors from Britain, Hong Kong and Singapore share their inspirations, discuss the differences between mystery and crime fiction, and examine what crime fiction reveals about the tensions of the society it is set in.

香港作家,以推理创作见长。写作生涯始于2008年,以童话推理作品《杰克魔豆杀人事件》入围台湾推理作家协会征文奖决选,隔年凭《蓝胡子的密室》赢得同一活动首奖。2011年,小说作品《遗忘·刑警》获颁中文推理创作界最崇高的“岛田庄司推理小说奖”。2015年凭长篇作品《13·67》夺台北国际书展大奖,作品售出美、英、法、加、意、荷
韩等多国版权,也将改编成电影,缔造华文推理小说新纪录。现为台湾推理作家协会海外成员。

 

Chan Ho-Kei is from Hong Kong. His writing career started in 2008 with the short story ‘The Case of Jack and the Beanstalk’, shortlisted for the Mystery Writers of Taiwan Award. He won the following year with ‘The Locked Room of Bluebeard’. In 2011, his novel The Man Who Sold the World won the Soji Shimada Mystery Award – the biggest mystery prize in the Chinese-speaking world – while in 2015, his novel The Borrowed won the Taipei Book Fair Award.
