To self-publish or to hunt for a publisher? There are risks and gains when an author chooses to publish himself or herself. On the one side, you possess total control and enjoy convenience. On the other, there remains a shadow of a stigma. The writers on this panel share honest thoughts on their decisions.

Suffian Hakim woke up one day and discovered that he had inadvertently grown into an adult. In the ensuing panic, he began a career as a writer. He has authored two novels and is currently working on his third. In 2017, he was the second runner-up for the prestigious Esquire x Montblanc Fiction Writer Prize.
