DESCRIPTION

Your favourite Internet celebrity couple has just broken up. A content creator has issued yet another apology video. Someone, somewhere, has spilled the tea (again). Why and how are the audiences so invested in the personal lives of social media influencers and celebrities? Do they even know you exist? Three speakers discuss the para-social relationships between the audience and the celebrity and the implications from such illusory experiences.

This is a live session.

This session was conceptualised by the SWF 2020 Youth Curators, and is co-presented with the Singapore Book Council.
