In SWF 2005, Isa Kamari and Elangovan debated the allure of sexuality and desire as a topic for generations of writers. Twelve years later, has anything changed? Is sex still a taboo topic? Isa will be joined by Filipino speculative fiction writer Dean Francis Alfar and Indian feminist editor Kutti Revathi.
Isa Kamari has written, in Malay, nine novels, two poetry collections, a story collection, an essay collection on Singapore Malay poetry, a collection of plays, and lyrics for two albums. His novels have been translated into English, Turkish, Urdu, Indonesian and Mandarin. His essays and poems have been translated into English. His first novel in English, Tweet, was published last year. Isa has received the SEA Write Award (2006), the Cultural Medallion (2007), and the Anugerah Tun Seri Lanang (2009).

Revathi Suyambulingam, better known as Kutti Revathi, is a noted poet, writer and social activist. She has published several collections of poetry in Tamil and penned lyrics for songs in Tamil movies. Dean Francis Alfar (Philippines) is a novelist, playwright, anthologist, and advocate of Speculative Fiction. His books include Salamanca, The Kite of Stars and Other Stories, and A Field Guide to the Roads of Manila. His short fiction has been published in his home country as well as in international markets.
