DESCRIPTION

In visual mediums like graphic novels, colours are important tools used by illustrators and artists for a variety of purposes. What about graphic novelists who only employ black and white in their craft? In this conversation, presenters will talk about the importance of colour or the lack thereof in creating an emotional and visual impact for their readers.

Ancco (born. October 23, 1983) is the pen-name of Choi Kyung-jin, creator of the webcomic Ancco's Picture Diary. In January 2017, her book Bad Friends, published in French as Mauvaises Filles, was awarded the Prix Révélation at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. She was the first Korean ever to be honored at Angoulême.

Zu Orzu has worked on the highly reviewed DC Comics series Cover with Brian Michael Bendis and David Mack. Along with colouring the series, she did the art for the first issue's variant cover. She is the cover artist for various Valiant Comics titles including XO-Manowar and Punk Mambo. Orzu has exhibited her work and attended international signing events in Japan, New York City, Arizona, Italy, and Argentina. She has also aided in teaching with the U.S. Embassy envoy in Tunisia and Singapore.
