How does one attempt the fractured, splintered alterna-realities of everyday existence? Whether defying thematic tropes or upending chronological flow, the writers on this panel toy with multiple expectations ranging from characterisation to logic and time zones.

Sri Lanka - Germany
Senthuran Varatharajah was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Germany. He studied philosophy, theology and cultural studies in Marburg, Berlin and London. In 2016, he published his debut novel, Vor der Zunahme der Zeichen. Among others, it was awarded the 3sat Prize, the Alfred Doblin Fellowship of the Berlin Academy of Arts, the Berlin Senate Fellowship, the Kranichsteiner Literaturförderpreis, the Bremer Literaturförderpreis, the Chamisso Award and the Rauriser Literaturpreis.Senthuran Varatharajah is featured in the following SWF event(s):
