DESCRIPTION

One documents his explorations of Myanmar, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and many more in detailed travelogues. Another draws vignettes of her sojourns to China and Malaysia. The last combines verse and photography in overseas encounters. This panel explores the range of travel writing, from travelogues to human-interest stories, and why each writer chooses a particular travel sub-genre to document his or her experience.

FEATURING

Mimi Mashud

Malaysia

Mimi Mashud is a freelance illustrator and comics artist. She illustrates for various corporate clients, and draws travel comics when she’s not. This year, she is taking some time off client work to concentrate on travelogue-comics. She is hoping that this decision is financially viable. Her two travelogue-comics to date – Beijing in 5 Days and Kuala Terengganu in 7 Days – can be purchased at www.maplecomics.com.my.
