Bio
Born in Okara, Pakistan, Mohammed Hanif graduated from Pakistan Air Force Academy as pilot officer, before later pursuing a career in journalism. A graduate of the University of East Anglia’s creative writing programme, he has written plays for the stage and BBC radio. His film, The Long Night, has been shown at film festivals around the world. His debut novel, A Case of Exploding Mangoes, which was longlisted for the 2008 Man Booker Prize and shortlisted for Guardian First Book Award, won the Commonwealth First Book Prize for South Asia and Europe. He currently resides in London.
