TellTale: Telling Tales in the Classroom
by Dennis Yeo (NIE)

9 Mar (2.30pm – 5.30pm)
Goodman Arts Centre, Blk B, Meeting Room 4
Duration: 3 hours
Fee: $50 per teacher

Telltale: 11 Stories, an anthology of eleven Singaporean stories, may appear to be a diverse, even disparate, collection but in these wide-ranging tales of exploration and discovery, the self is not just positioned chronologically and geographically but also within a narrative. This workshop seeks to help participants discover how narrative can be used to locate identity. But to do so, teachers themselves must become a teller of tales – reliving personal experiences and inviting others to relive a slice of their lives. Join Dennis Yeo (author of Telltale 11 Stories: A Study Companion) as he explores the issues and mindsets that have shaped Telltale and its portrayal of who we are – both as individuals and as a society – and how we can help students understand it all better.

Telltale: 11 Stories is an ‘O’ Level text.
