Author Biography
John Boyne (Ireland)
John was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1971. He has authored seven novels for adults and two for children, including the international bestsellers The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, which was made into a feature film two years later, and The House of Special Purpose. His novels have won many literary awards and are published in over 40 languages. John’s latest book for younger readers is Noah Barleywater Runs Away.

The National Arts Council, MOE Chinese Literature CPDD and
publisher Lingzi Media will be launching 《飞跃有情天》, a Supplementary Learning Package for Secondary School Higher Chinese Language. Featuring local writers such as You Jin, Ai Yu and Wu Wei Cai, this anthology of Chinese short stories aims to promote greater awareness and cultivate an appreciation for local literary arts among youths.
This event will be held in the Nanyang Girls’ High Auditorium on 2 March 2012. Attendance is by invitation only.

《飞跃有情天》是由国家艺术理事会与新加坡教育部课程规划与玲子传媒出版社合作策划的文萃分类读本。书内的十六位作者,包括本地知名的尤今、艾禺与吴伟才等。编选的佳作篇篇文情并茂,风景精致,有望使年轻读者通过阅读而增强对本地文学的理解与欣赏。
本书将在3月2日于南洋女子中学礼堂内发布(凭柬入场)。
